The cast of Love Island USA are, per usual, spending a lot of time shirtless, and several of them have tattoos that are causing debate among fans. As one person on Reddit put it, “Guys what the f does sincere Roman numerals tattoo say/mean my roomies and I have been trying to figure it out the whole ep. Same thing with Kc’s back tattoo.”

Kicking things off with Sincere Rhea’s tattoo, it reads “II XXXIV” in Roman numerals. This translates to 2:34, which could mean just about anything (though there’s speculation it’s referencing a Bible verse).

Meanwhile, KC Chandler has “STILL I RISE” tattooed across his back, which is presumably a reference to the famous poem by Maya Angelou. Lewis Hamilton has the same tattoo—also across his back.

FYI, Love Island has some pretty strict rules when it comes to tattoos—or, at least Love Island UK does. A source previously told The Sun that all contestants have to disclose their tattoo meanings to producers, saying “This rule was quietly bought in a couple of years ago—potential contestants have to talk through their tattoos and the meanings of them when they meet show casting. Then, before they make it into the villa, they do an audio recording of what their inkings are about. It’s just so there are no misunderstandings when they enter the villa.”
